This course will help you understand the major differences between these versions, with a focus on the file handling issues which many users find confusing. A Moodle 2.1 installation is provided for users to experiment with and this also includes an implementation of the open source portfolio Mahara. The course instructor Richard Jones has been working with Moodle for 6 years and he recently helped many teachers upgrade from Moodle 1.9 to Moodle 2.1. He will be able to guide you effectively in upgrading your courses to the latest version of Moodle, Moodle 2.1.

About the instructor:

 

Richard Jones is the owner of IB Computing Net, a website designed for teachers and researchers interested in IB Computer Science. Richard has 20 years experience in teaching and lecturing. He has also been working with Moodle for 6 years and recently upgraded many teachers from Moodle 1.9 to Moodle 2.1 version. Richard holds a Post Graduate Certification in Online Education from University of Southern Queensland, Australia and also a Masters in Education from Bath Spa University, United Kingdom. He also holds a Masters in Marine Earth Science, specializing in micro-palaeontology from University of London, United Kingdom. Richard Jones along with Andrew Meyenn has also published a “Text book for use with the International Baccalaureate Computer Science program”. Richard Jones is currently based in Hamilton, New Zealand.
