About
Art of Inquiry
The Art of Inquiry introduces children to creative problem solving which they will be able to utilize throughout their education as well as in the real world. While most of the curriculum is math and science based, we do not teach specific facts. Instead, we emphasize those mental skills that help students to approach any complex and open-ended problem. We provide educational services for groups of children, age 6 and up. Our classes are small, in order to give each student a lot of personal attention. All our classes are inquiry-based, encouraging active participation and teamwork.
During the workshops, students are routinely exposed to complex and open-ended challenges. We teach kids to identify the problem, collect missing information, formulate alternative approaches, and make the best use of available resources to come up with a creative solution.
Our projects require kids to work together to accomplish a common goal. We teach kids to listen to other people's views, share and defend their own ideas, and comfortably acknowledge their mistakes when persuaded by their peers.
Innovative thinking is critical for navigating the complexities of the contemporary world. Through engaging historical explorations, we introduce students to the processes of invention and insight, and guide kids as they create their own innovative products. We cover a variety of problem solving approaches, originally developed for scientists and inventors.
We prepare kids for participation in the International Math Competition MathKangaroo.
