Amanda Wilder began her career as a professional dance teacher and performer in Seattle, WA. She has danced with classical ballet and modern dance companies including The Colorado Ballet and David Taylor Dance Theater, and taught dance in public schools, dance studios and at corporate conventions. After retiring from her dance career, Amanda completed a B.A. in Communication at The University of Colorado. She moved to Washington, DC in 2003, and she initially began working as a meeting and event planner for various Washington arts organizations such as Americans for the Arts. But before long, she decided to return to her love of teaching; this time teaching English language instruction. Amanda completed a TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) Certificate at Lado International College and is currently completing an M.Ed. (Master’s degree in Education) in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) at the University of Maryland. She loves diving into cutting edge research in this exciting field of teaching English. She believes that the quantum power of positive thinking and real life application are some of the best tools for learning anything.
