When you're having trouble with a particular subject in school it's often because you're attempting to memorize facts, figures and formulas long enough to pass a test. It can seem impossible to develop a structured, coherent understanding of the subject as a whole using this approach. The result is usually confusion, frustration, and grades well below those of which you're actually capable.

The key is learning *how to think about the subject*. Once I help you achieve that, remembering facts and formulas becomes much easier and much quicker. You'll recall this knowledge much more easily in the future, long after you've kicked butt on the exam, because you'll have learned a set of basic principles and a framework of general understanding of the subject matter.

That's called "Getting It". That's what makes it possible to turn Cs and Ds into As and Bs on exams, papers, and assignments.
