English Out There began in London and is still taught there. It is a unique English course based upopn psycholinguistic principles and involves real practice of target language either face to face or online. I created Out There and was one of the editors when we finally, after seven years of development, published our materials on our website at www.languagesoutthere.com at the end of last year.

Founded and ran well known English school in central London for almost 10 years.

I am the creator and founder of the Out There way of teaching. I founded and ran a British Council accredited school in central London in 1992 and then set up English Out There in 2001 as I thought there was a better way to teach students English in London. It turns out doing that sent me on an amazing and highly educational adventure which how I got here, with all of the English Out There experience and materials that are now on our website.

In 2001, after some amazing results with some students on our new course, English Out There, I started reading research on the psychology of language learning and I'm still going...it turns out there are real, concrete psychological reasons for why what we do works and it is my mission to continue exploring and learning and to pass on that knowledge as best I can to teachers and learners anywhere.

A fine preparation for the rest of my life...

With my first English school in London we achieved accreditation after just two and half years of operation. Which was pretty unusual in those days and I was 25 years old at the time. I guided the school through subsequent inspections successfully and although I left the school completely in 2000 it is still accredited. I have worked for the British Council as a consultant and also spoken at conferences.

English Out There course program over six levels. I developed these lesson plans over seven years with many teachers and fee paying students. They work.

This is the first English course book designed to be used with social media for real interaction and practice.
