Aleksander KUSTEC
(born 28 February 1967 in Murska Sobota, Slovenia)


Received his Honours B. A. (Slovenian literature and language; English literature and language) from the University of Ljubljana in 1992, M. A. in Canadian Literature from the University of Ljubljana in 1997, MBA from IEDC – Bled School of Management in 2000, and PhD in English Literature from University of Ljubljana in 2001.

He worked at TV Slovenia (1987-1992) as a translator and TV Editor; taught at a grammar school in Ljubljana (1992-1994), from there he moved to the Department of English and American Studies, Faculty of Arts, University of Ljubljana (1994-1999) and worked as TA and RA. From 2001-2004, he worked as Deputy Director for the field of Education in Perenic svetovanje in Ljubljana, Slovenia. In 2004 he established his own company ANGLA, and has offered business services (business training, language training, translations) to over 50 companies in Slovenia and abroad.

Dr. Kustec has attended and given papers at many conferences in Slovenia and abroad (Otocec 1990, Bratislava 1995, Oxford 1998, Grasmere 1998, Ljubljana 1998, Brno 1998, Grainau 1999, Seregélyes 1999, Portorož 2002, Portorož 2009, etc.), and has published many essays in Slovene in foreign journals.

His main fields of interest are general management, leadership, coaching, selling and sales management, business communication, business and general English, literatures in English speaking nations; Slovene immigrant literature; Slovene literature; business and literary translation, and literary and language didactics.

He is a member of many associations in Slovenia and abroad.
